Here's to November!

FACT: The national flower of November is the Chrysanthemum!

I have a particular interest in odd and sometimes off topic points of discussion. I hope to use this blog some of the time to get these out of my head. As mentioned in the side notes to the right, this is really just a way of brainstorming...a way to vent or connect or just get out of me head. so, I am certain fragmentation and oddity will abound.

Where to begin... well, as Maria from " The Sound of Music" sings, "lets start at the very beginning, the very best place to start"... in other words, TODAY, this moment! ...but alas, here is some backround that lead to this day being another "start" for me.

Recently, my sister began blogging and it really re-inspired my to have my own place to that is open and honest and in a semi-public way. I used to blog, in fact this Blogger account was started in '09 as a way to stay in contact while I was away on a missions trip to Antigua. Like anything I've done, it seemed to fade out. Loss of interest, lack of dedication...call it whatever but I had doubts about starting another one.

I have always loved the idea of journaling and in fact i have a shelf of started journals from different times in life where i would journal quite often...Its always been s what I like about blogging versus journaling though is that it allows a connection through sharing... we don't usually bring those personal journals out for viewing during get-togethers with friends or family or to place in the waiting room of the Dr's clinic. Journaling permits a us to  be closed off from a certain level of self and others...we are still able to hide in a way. In reading my current book, watching TedTalks and just being in open conversations with friends, sisters, my boss and strangers I have come to learn that life, the hard times, pleasantries, love and loss...are the greatest teacher if you are paying attention, and that vulnerability and a good sense of openness is all part of the process.
So here's to November, Change... and beyond 2013.
